Lois Farm is situated 2.5 miles south of the A303 Wincanton bypass near to the Somerset, Dorset and Wiltshire borders. The farm, originally called The Doves, is close to the historic towns of Castle Cary, Sherborne, with its two castles, and Shaftesbury (a Saxon hill top town). If you venture a bit further (to the east) you will find the Wiltshire cathedral city of Salisbury, and (to the north) the Georgian spa city of Bath.
To reach Lois Farm by car take the Wincanton exit from A303. Take the 3rd exit from roundabout heading towards Wincanton with Morrisons on your right. Cross over the next roundabout, pass Southgate garage on your right and look for the 'No Entry' sign ahead. Turn right here, signposted to Buckhorn Weston and Sports Ground. Stay on this road for 1.7 miles. At this point you will approach a right turn by a large fir tree and signposted Horsington. Take this road and travel for 0.9 of a mile until you reach a house on your right. Immediately take a left turn at the Lois Sign and the farmhouse and cottages are the only dwellings down this lane.
Trains from Templecombe (our local station) go to Salisbury and London Waterloo. There is a link with the Weymouth South Coast route via Yeovil. Buses leave from Wincanton to London twice daily on an 'out and return' basis taking just over two hours each trip.
